Two different drivers led in
the 25-lap JSTS $5,000 to win event. At the
start it was Brian Brown, Higginsville MO, getting
the early lead from his inside row one starting
spot. The lead would not last long though as
Billy Alley made his move into the lead coming out
of turn four on lap two. That put Brown back
to the second spot as Wayne Johnson, Knoxville IA,
ran third and Gregg Bakker, Sioux Falls SD, fourth.
Two laps later Johnson got by Brown, and on lap six
Brown slipped back to fourth as Bakker got by him as
well. The races first caution flag came out on

Foss, Brauer,
Wheeler and Kilby top Deer Creek Foes
By: Todd Narveson
Spring Valley, MN (August
16) - It was a picture perfect night for the
second to last night of track points at the
Deer Creek Speedway. Jeff Brauer and Bobby
Kilby both won their first features of the
season while Keith Foss and Dan Wheeler
added to their win totals in the AMSOIL Dirt
Track Series.
The Dirt Doctor Trucking
WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds rolled on to the
speedway for the first feature of the
evening. Shaun Walski and Travis Krause
paced the field for the eighteen lap main
event.
Krause jumped to the lead
early on and led the field until lap eleven.
Eighth starting Dan Wheeler moved through
traffic to second and closed in on Krause
for the lead. Krause got pinned behind a

Kyle Berck dominates the action at
Park Jefferson Speedway
LeRoy Beck
August 16, 2008
-
Jefferson,
SD
-
Kyle Berck pulled double duty as Patrick M
Pinney Contracting presented the racing
action at Park Jefferson Speedway.
Berck would run in both the IMCA modifieds
as well as the SLMR late models in hopes of
pulling off a rare double. Berck’s run
would come up short with the modifieds, but
the late model race would be all Kyle Berck.
Other feature winners on the night were Mike
Hansen, Glenn Wynia, Chris Weatherton,
Marlis Boggs, Austin Pinney, and Rusty
Montagne.
The main event of the evening was the SLMR
late models, but it was readily apparent
that this night was going to be the Kyle
Berck show. Berck would dominate his
heat race and would jump to the lead from
his fifth starting spot at lap four and
never look back. At various points
Berck would have an almost half lap
advantage over second place. Late in
the race, the fastest car on the track was
Ed Kosiski. However, at that point,
Kosiski was too far behind to make any kind
of challenge. At the line, Berck would
still have a full straightaway advantage
over Joe Kosiski, Ed Kosiski, Mike Collins,
and Craig Prebble.
